Enable Auto Battle HSR – Honkai: Star Rail, the latest game from the creators of Genshin Impact, has finally been released on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS. The game is set in the aftermath of the events of Honkai Impact 3rd and follows the journey of Welt Yang in a parallel universe.
Like its predecessors, Honkai: Star Rail features a turn-based combat system that requires players to exploit their enemies’ weaknesses. While the game does have an auto-battle feature, it is not immediately available at the start of the game. This Gamer Haul article will guide you on how to unlock and enable the auto-battle feature in HSR!

How to Unlock Auto Battle in Honkai Star Rail
To unlock the auto-battle feature, players must complete Herta’s first ‘Simulated World (I),’ which is – essentially – a tutorial for the game’s weekly missions. Once you complete the run, you can use the auto-battle feature to make future fights much faster and easier!
How to Use Auto Battle in Honkai Star Rail
After completing the tutorial and unlocking the auto-battle feature, you can test it out in any fight. During a battle, look at the top-right corner of your screen to find the various battle options, along with their shortcut keybindings:
Fast-Forward Button (Left Button)
The leftmost button on the list is the ‘speed-up’ key, which allows you to increase the speed of your ongoing battle by up to two times its normal speed. This button lets you quickly finish off minor opponents and save time, especially during repeated battles. This feature won’t work for story-based bosses, though!
Auto Battle Button (Middle Button)
If you want to sit back and let the game take the wheel, simply press the middle button during a fight to activate the auto-battle feature. This means the game’s CPU will take control and progress the battle automatically, without you needing to perform any actions. Keep in mind, though, that the game will use your ultimate charge or skill points at its discretion. While the auto-battle feature can make battles easier, it’s not always the best option. For more challenging enemies, I recommend planning your strategy carefully and not relying on auto-battle!
Pause Button (Right Button)
The final option on the list is the “pause” button, located on the right side. Pressing it during a battle allows you to temporarily halt the fight, allowing you to take a mid-fight break or escape if necessary. While the battle is paused, you can also check for any potential item drops or objectives you have yet to complete.
