How to Level Up Battle Pass Fast in Diablo 4
The concept of a Battle Pass or Season Pass is new to the Diablo franchise, and the good news for fans is that it’s not a ‘pay to win’ system. There are 27 Free Tiers and 63 Premium Tiers, but even without purchasing the premium pass, you’ll gain access to all main gameplay elements, including the new “Smoldering Ashes” item to unlock the Season Blessings. Premium Tier rewards are cosmetic, offering additional flair to your characters. That being said, here are the best methods to earn Favor and swiftly progress through the Battle Pass tiers in Diablo 4:
1 | Complete Quests in the Seasonal Realm
In Diablo 4, “Favor” is a fancy term for “Battle Pass XP.” It is the key to leveling up your Battle Pass quickly, and the most efficient way to earn it is by completing Seasonal Quests in the Seasonal Realm. To participate in the seasonal questline, you’ll need to:
- Create a new character in the Seasonal Realm (separate from the Eternal Realm).
- Complete the main story campaign (you can skip it for the seasonal character if you’ve already finished it in the Eternal Realm).
This will grant you access to Season 1 content, which continues from the main campaign’s events. Complete the Season Quests, and don’t forget to tackle side quests and events along the way, as they all grant you Favor to level up your Battle Pass.
2 | Challenge Malignant Tunnels
Once you’ve completed the initial seasonal quests with your new partner, Cormond, the Malignant Tunnels become available. These unique dungeons are a major highlight of Season 1, housing the new “Corrupted” enemies that drop Malignant Hearts. These hearts can be socketed into your Jewelry to gain special powers (like Legendary Aspects) to enhance your character’s abilities.
Venturing into the Malignant Tunnels serves a dual purpose. Not only do you get to face challenging foes and gather powerful enhancements, but your progress in these dungeons also contributes to your Battle Pass tiers in the Season Journey. It’s a win-win situation that lets you earn Favor while enjoying thrilling gameplay!
3 | Embark on the Season Journey
To begin your Season 1 adventure, open the Map Screen and head to the ‘Season’ tab (keyboard shortcut: U). Here, you’ll find the Season Journey waiting for you. This journey is divided into seven chapters, each with its own set of objectives to complete.
The tasks vary in complexity, from straightforward activities like crafting elixirs and upgrading gear to more challenging feats like defeating World Bosses in higher World Tiers. Every time you finish a chapter, you’ll be rewarded with a generous amount of Favor that directly contributes to leveling up your Battle Pass.
4 | Consider Tier Skips
If you’re looking for a quick way to unlock higher-tier BP rewards without putting in the grind, Tier Skips are an option. However, this method involves spending real money, and therefore, it’s not my top recommendation!
Tier Skips cost 200 Platinum each, but there’s a catch. Certain rewards, like Smoldering Ashes used to unlock the Season Blessings, are level-locked. This means you can’t buy your way to these rewards; your seasonal character must reach a certain level to unlock and use them. So, while Tier Skips may get you cosmetic rewards faster, the true gameplay benefits come from earning Favor through gameplay and completing the Season Journey. Just be mindful of your choices, and make sure to enjoy the journey at your own pace!
