New Mod Unleashes AMD Frame Generation in DLSS 3 Games for All!

News

In another impressive showcase of the modding community’s capabilities, USA-based modder Nukem has just unveiled a groundbreaking mod on Nexus Mods. This mod opens the door for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) to be integrated into any game featuring DLSS 3 Frame Generation.

DLSS 3, Nvidia’s flagship upscaling technology, is exclusive to its 40-series GPUs. Meanwhile, AMD has earned praise for not restricting their FSR 3 tech to a specific product line. Interestingly, it’s accessible even to Nvidia users rocking a 10 series GPU and above. However, the ‘Frame Generation’ feature is still limited to RTX 20 series GPUs and equivalently capable AMD GPUs.

Dubbed “DLSSG-TO-FSR3,” Nukem’s mod offers a significant performance boost to Nvidia RTX users who don’t own a 40-series card. This means even games without native support for AMD FSR 3 can now benefit from enhanced frames per second, all thanks to the ingenious application of this mod. The creation of this mod was made feasible by AMD’s decision to make the source code for their technology open-source and downloadable from GitHub. Remarkably, Nukem9 managed to whip up this mod in just under a week!

As for getting the mod to work for you, it seems surprisingly straightforward. It involves tweaking a few registry keys to disable Nvidia’s hardware checks and then copying two DLL files into your game’s installation directory. If all goes according to plan, you should now find the ‘DLSS Frame Generation’ option in your game settings, ready to be toggled on.
