Who to Give the Jadeite Orb to in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Dragon's Dogma 2

The “Hunt for the Jadeite Orb” quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 (DD2) sends you on a mission to track down clues about the Jadeite Orb, obtain it, and then deliver it to one of two NPCs: Offulve or Everard. However, there’s a twist—you can commission Ibrahim, the merchant you can buy the orb from, to forge a fake copy, potentially increasing your profits by deceiving one of the characters.

Hunt for the Jadeite Orb: Choices & Outcomes

Here are the different paths you can take to complete this Dragon’s Dogma 2 side quest and the consequences attached to each choice:

What Happens if You Give the Fake Jadeite Orb to Everard?

Engaging in conversation with Everard, one of the NPCs in the 'Hunt for the Jadeite Orb' side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Regardless of which version of the orb you give to Everard, he will want to verify its authenticity with Ibrahim. If you choose to give the Imitation Jadeite Orb to Everard and keep the authentic one for Offulve, there are two possible outcomes:

  1. Get caught and thrown in prison.
  2. Bribe Ibrahim to lie to Everard about the orb’s authenticity.

Choosing the second option saves you from dishonor and imprisonment but costs 12,000 Gold to buy Ibrahim’s honesty. As payment for the orb (although fake), Everard rewards you with the Ring of Skullduggery and 12,000 Gold. You can then sell the genuine Jadeite Orb to Offulve, who gives you 3,000 Gold and an Elite Camping Kit as payment.

What Happens if You Give the Fake Jadeite Orb to Offulve?

Engaging in conversation with Offulve, one of two potential buyers in the 'Hunt for the Jadeite Orb' side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2.

While this choice is the most profitable, it’s morally questionable. Giving the genuine Jadeite Orb to Everard and the fake one to Offulve (who trusts you and doesn’t verify its authenticity) earns you a total of 15,000 Gold, the Ring of Skullduggery, and an Elite Camping Kit.

So, taking into account the original cost of the Jadeite Orb (7500G) and the cost of forging a copy (2000G), your net profit amounts to 5,500 Gold.

Who Should You Give the Genuine Jadeite Orb to?

Bribing Ibrahim, the in-game merchant, to persuade him to lie about the authenticity of the Jadeite Orb in the Dragon's Dogma 2 side quest.

Monetarily speaking, the best choice is to give the real Jadeite Orb to Everard and let Offulve have the fake one. However, this raises moral concerns as you would be cheating Offulve, who can spare only a little gold, in exchange for a copy.

Additionally, Offulve has already confided in you that he had originally intended to sell off the treasure himself and quit serving his Master Everard for good, who, according to him, has had people killed in the past for their mistakes.

For these reasons, I chose to play Robin Hood during my playthrough, opting for Option #1. I also decided to bribe Ibrahim to avoid trouble and still received both Offulve’s 3,000 Gold and Everard’s Ring of Skullduggery as rewards for completing the quest!
