- Heat-Resisting Food/Equipment: Prepare a few Snowberry Shakes (Snow Berries + Milk) in advance for 10 minutes of heat resistance. Alternatively, you can also craft and equip a Cool-Headed Charm.
- Wood: Pack a decent amount for building stairs and floors to reach Obsidian ore nodes.
- Torch: Since you’ll be delving into dark spots, having some light is a smart idea.

2 | Look for a Lava Cave in the Desert
To obtain Obsidian, your first task is to locate a Lava Cave, a distinct type of cave found in the Dry Valley biome. So, explore the desert area attentively, keeping an eye out for those cave entrances!
3 | Look for Obsidian on the ceilings and walls
Obsidian nodes commonly protrude from the cave walls and ceiling. Enter the cave and look up for dark-purple-colored ore nodes. These are the ones you’ll need to extract using your Level 3 Pickaxe. Use your building menu to create stairs and floors to reach and break the ores for raw Obsidian.
After finishing one cave, continue exploring for more and repeat the process until you have enough or return to your base to process the Obsidian into Obsidian Slabs using a Stone Breaker.
