- Begin by fast traveling to Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower. From there, launch into the air and prepare to explore the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago.
- Use your paraglider to reach the closest island, where you’ll find a Zonai aircraft. Use Ultrahand to grab the Rocket and attach it to the vehicle.
- Take off and fly to the next island, where you’ll find another aircraft. Use this one to continue your journey towards the island housing the Mayanas Shrine entrance.
- Interact with the entrance to initiate the “The South Lanayru Sky Crystal” Shrine Quest.
- Follow the laser beam’s direction to locate a cave where you’ll find the crystal – which is the key to the Mayanas Shrine.
- Clear the vines blocking the entrance using fire or a sharp weapon.
- Use Ultrahand to attach fans, batteries, and a steering stick to the Zonai Wing in the cave. Use the modified aircraft to transport the crystal back to the entrance of the Shrine!
- Place the crystal on the entrance, activating the Shrine and finally granting you access.

The Mayanas Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a tricky puzzle involving spiky platforms and switches. Here’s a step-by-step guide to quickly solve the “The Ice Guides You” puzzles and complete the Mayanas Shrine:
- Start by descending the stairs and ramp after entering the Shrine. You’ll spot a pool with Ice Fruit trees in each corner, along with two Zonai frost emitter devices. At the far end of the room, there’s a platform covered in spikes, and a moving orange sensor switch.
- Grab an Ice Fruit and toss it into the water to freeze it, creating a square plate of ice. Use Ultrahand to lift the ice plate and carry it to the ramp that leads to the spiked platform.
- Pay attention to the movement of the switch on the platform. Release the ice plate at the right moment, allowing it to slide down the ramp, pass over the spikes, and activate the sensor switch, unlocking the gate.
- Proceed to the next room, where you’ll find an altar with the Hand Sigil (Light of Blessing) on the left. While you can claim your reward and exit the Shrine here, there’s still a chest in the room that you’ll want to open.
- Just like in the first room, create more ice plates using Ice Fruits or the Zonai frost emitter devices.
- Link the ice blocks together using the Ultrahand to form a more extended plate.
- Guide the ice plate toward the spiky platform at the far end of the room and release it as close to the orange switch as possible.
- The switch will be triggered, opening the door to the chest. Open the chest to obtain your “Mighty Zonaite Shield.”
