Destiny 2: Swordbreaker God Roll

Swordbreaker Shotgun in Destiny 2

Crota Shotgun Godroll D2 – The return of the iconic Swordbreaker shotgun from Destiny 1 in the Crota’s End raid has Guardians excited. This Strand shotgun packs a punch, but getting the right roll for your playstyle is key. I’ve extensively tested the Swordbreaker in both PvP and PvE, and I’m ready to share the god-rolls you should chase.

How to Get the Swordbreaker in Destiny 2

Crota's End Raid Encounter Destiny 2

Before we dive into perks, you’ll need to get your hands on the Swordbreaker first. This new raid shotgun only drops from the second and final encounter in the Crota’s End raid – Cross the Bridge and Crota, Son of Oryx himself. I’ve found the best farming strategy is to just repeatedly beat down Crota since he’s quicker to take down. Once you get your first Swordbreaker to drop, you can also spend Spoils of Conquest at the end chest to target farm rolls.

D2: Swordbreaker PvP God Roll

Swordbreaker Shotgun PvP God Roll Perks in Destiny 2

For Crucible combat, you want to maximize your one-shot kill potential, which means Range is king. After countless Trials and Iron Banner matches, this is the PvP god roll I recommend:

  • Barrel: Barrel Shroud – Boosts stability and handling.
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds – Major bump to the range.
  • Perk 1: Slideshot – Temporarily boosts range and handling on sliding.
  • Perk 2: Opening Shot – Increased Aim Assist and Range on the opening shot.
  • Masterwork: Handling

This combination gives you the most consistent one-hit eliminations. Slideshot lets you push out your lethal range after sliding around a corner. Adding to that, Opening Shot makes that first shot even deadlier. The rest of the perks enhance the overall range for reliable kills at further distances and handling to increase the shotgun’s ready-and-stow speed. I’ve gotten some crazy kills thanks to the long reach of this roll.

D2: Swordbreaker PvE God Roll

Swordbreaker Shotgun PvE God Roll Perks in Destiny 2

For cutting down hordes of enemies in PvE, you’ll want to focus on ad clear and synergizing with your melee attacks. This is the roll you want for Strikes, seasonal activities, and Dungeons:

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling – Nice balance of stats
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag – Faster reloads and stability
  • Perk 1: Pugilist – Melee kills buff weapon handling
  • Perk 2: One-Two Punch – Hit all pellets to buff melee damage
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Pugilist and One-Two Punch work so well together. Getting up close to smash enemies refunds melee energy and increases your weapon handling. This lets you fluidly chain Shotgun blasts with melee strikes. One-Two Punch is the perfect complement, making your powered melee attacks hit even harder after landing all Shotgun pellets on a target. The fast reloads from Tactical Mag and reload masterwork minimize downtime.

The Swordbreaker is an S-tier Raid weapon for both PvE and PvP. Now that you’ve got the god rolls, it’s time to jump into the action and tame this beast of a shotgun. See you out there, Guardians!
