Helldivers 2: How to Beat Bile Titans

Helldivers 2

The Bile Titan, the behemoth of Helldivers 2, stands tall as the biggest and baddest unit you’ll face in the game. This colossal Terminid not only shrugs off most attacks thrown its way but also boasts a mean stomp and a bile-spewing ranged attack that can potentially wipe you out in one shot. And if that wasn’t enough, these Titans are also among the fastest units you’ll encounter, making them a real nightmare, especially for players under level 20!

In this guide, I’ll show you the ropes on how to take down a Bile Titan no matter where or when you stumble upon one during your democracy-spreading endeavors in Helldivers 2!

Best Tips to Defeat a Bile Titan in Helldivers 2

Using a Railgun in 'unsafe mode' to defeat a Bile Titan in Helldivers 2

While you might bump into Bile Titans on Hard difficulty every now and then, they become a regular sight on Challenging and higher difficulties, often appearing in missions with not one, but multiple of these colossal Terminids.

Here are the top tips to remember when facing off against a Bile Titan in HD2:

1. Keep Your Distance

Close encounters with Bile Titans are best avoided unless you have a fondness for getting squashed like a bug (pun intended). Maintain a safe distance and utilize cover wisely to dodge their bone-crushing melee and acid-spewing ranged attacks.

2. Aim for its Weak Spots

Focus your attacks exclusively on the Bile Titan’s critical weak spots: the area beneath its mouth (the ‘chin’) and its bright green underside. Hitting these spots will deal significant damage, as the rest of its body is heavily armored.

3. Use Heavy Armor Penetration Weapons

Support Weapons with the ‘Heavy Armor Penetrating’ trait, such as the Railgun, Spear, and Autocannon, will be your best friends during an encounter with a Bile Titan. The Railgun may take around ten shots (in unsafe mode) before it goes down, and two shots from the Spear will generally break its armor and take it down. However, if you don’t have access to these weapons yet, the Anti-Materiel Rifle (or the Recoilless Rifle if you’re playing with another friend) is a good alternative.

4. Deploy the Perfect Stratagems

When it comes to taking down a Bile Titan, the Orbital Railcannon Strike is my personal favorite. Its auto-lock feature ensures continuous damage, even if the titan decides to make a run for it. But if precision timing is more your style, the Eagle 500KG Bomb can’t be beaten – just make sure to calculate your target’s movements correctly to avoid missing its deceptively small blast radius. And if you haven’t unlocked these heavy hitters yet, fear not! The Orbital Precision Strike and Orbital Laser are solid alternatives that’ll still pack a punch!
