Devastators, like the Hulks, come in three distinct variants in Helldivers 2:

  • Gunner Devastator: Armed with dual cannons, it’s the least intimidating but can still pack a punch if ignored.
  • Heavy Devastator: Equipped with machine guns and a sturdy shield, it requires heavy armor penetration to break through its defenses.
  • Rocket Devastator: Equipped with shoulder-mounted multi-rocket launchers, posing a significant threat that must be neutralized swiftly.

Regardless of the variant, the most effective method of dispatching a Devastator is, to no one’s surprise, the RS-422 Railgun. A well-placed shot from this Support Weapon Stratagem can penetrate even the shield of a Heavy Devastator, swiftly neutralizing the threat.

But if you haven’t unlocked the Railgun yet, another effective strategy is to target the Devastator’s arms with a good primary weapon, such as the Breaker shotgun. Doing this will strip it of its weapons (or shield) and render it defenseless, allowing you to easily eliminate it with a few shots to its exposed head!

With these strategies in mind, you’ll be able to handle Devastators with ease at any difficulty level in Helldivers 2. Share your own tactics and experiences in the comments below, and stay tuned to Gamer Haul for more expert tips and tricks!
