Eliminate or Spare Rinder's Life Choice in Cyberpunk 2077 Side Mission

Kill vs. Spare Leon Rinder CP2077 –  Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG at its heart, where your character’s story is shaped by the choices you make. With the release of the game’s highly-anticipated 2.0 update and the thrilling Phantom Liberty expansion, you’ll find yourself faced with more missions and moral dilemmas than ever before!

One such situation arises in the “The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman” side job, where you’re tasked with tracking down Leon Rinder. However, things take an unexpected turn when you finally locate Rinder. He appears to be a far cry from the villain Briana made him out to be; he’s a broken man, both physically and mentally. Now, you’re left with a choice: follow your orders and eliminate Rinder, or spare his life in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty?

Your first option is to carry out the bounty and eliminate Rinder. You can do this without even engaging in a conversation with him; simply pull out your weapon and end his life right there on his couch. The result remains the same even if you choose to speak with him before taking action.

Once Rinder is no more, you can retrieve his dog tag from his lifeless body and deliver it to Briana as proof of a job well done. In return, you’ll receive your payment in full: a handsome 8,000 Euro Dollars.

The second, more morally compassionate option is to spare Rinder, allowing the broken man to live out the remainder of his painful life. Your character views this decision as a more severe punishment than death, considering what he has become from what he once was. There’s also an added bonus for choosing this non-violent path!

When you choose to lower your weapon:

  • Rinder appreciates your decision and hands over his dog tag to you as requested. You can return it to Briana and inform her that Rinder is no longer a threat to Dogtown. She will trust your word.
  • Rinder provides you with the coordinates of his personal stash and the code needed to access it, as he promised. This choice unlocks a follow-up quest titled ‘Addicted to Chaos,’ which you can track to locate the stash and claim your rewards.
  • Head to the stash location in Dogtown and enter the code (1975) to open the garage door.
  • Inside, you’ll find ammo caches, several weapons, and unique clothing items. However, the highlight of this small garage is the Iconic double-barreled power shotgun called the Dezerter.

The Dezerter is a formidable weapon, boasting a rather interesting Iconic modifier and dealing devastating close-range damage! Opting for this path not only grants you the Dezerter but also secures the same 8,000 Euro Dollars you’d receive for Rinder’s demise.
