Atomic Heart, Gaming Guides

Atomic Heart Poster

After a series of delays, gameplay leaks, and much anticipation, Mundfish’s first AAA release, Atomic Heart, is now out on all platforms. Like any other “modern” game, Atomic Heart has its own configuration, AppData, and save files, the locations of which you should be aware of – in case you ever need to alter a setting or two that you can’t change via the in-game settings.

In this article, we’ll show you where to find important game configuration files like Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini, as well as where to access Atomic Heart’s save files on your storage.

Atomic Heart Config Files Location

All Atomic Heart settings, even ones you cannot tweak using the in-game settings, can be modified by editing the appropriate config files stored in a specific location. However, we do not recommend fiddling with these settings if you don’t know what you’re doing – because that can result in corrupted game files or the game not functioning correctly.

Here is the default game config file location:

  • Windows Only: %LOCALAPPDATA%\AtomicHeart\Saved\Config

You can press Windows+R on PC to launch the Run command window and paste the above line inside the box. This will automatically open the game’s config folder once you hit Enter.

Atomic Heart Save File Location

The save file for Atomic Heart is in charge of storing the player’s progress. Each time you save your progress, a new save file is created in your storage, or an existing one is overwritten with new data. Although Cloud Saves are a thing in the game, keeping a backup of these files is always a good idea to ensure you don’t lose valuable progress from hours of gameplay.

Here is the default save file location for Atomic Heart on each platform:

Windows

  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\AtomicHeart\Saved\SaveGames

PlayStation 5

  • Settings > STORAGE > [Storage device] > Saved Data > PS5 Games > Atomic Heart

Xbox One

  • My Games and Apps > Atomic Heart > Menu > Manage Game > SAVED DATA

Xbox Series X|S

  • My Games and Apps > Atomic Heart > Menu > Manage game and add-ons > Saved Data
