Rufus Fury Auto Rifle God Roll Perks PvE Destiny 2

Rufus’s Fury is the latest 720 RPM Auto Rifle to be added to Destiny 2 as part of the new Root of Nightmares Raid loot. It is a Legendary-rarity Strand Kinetic that really stands out from the rest with some awesome perks that make it one of the best weapons to farm in the new Lightfall Raid.

Whether you’re dealing with ads, powerful combatants, or opposing Guardians, this weapon shreds through them with ease! In this guide, we will explore the optimal perk combinations to farm/craft for Rufus’s Fury, covering both PvE and PvP ‘God Rolls’.

Rufus’s Fury Auto Rifle – God Roll for PvE

Barrel: Arrowhead Break +10 Handling and -30 Recoil.
Magazine: Ricochet Rounds +5 Range and +10 Stability.
Trait #1: Rewind Rounds Keep landing your shots, and you’ll never have to reload! In my opinion, Rewind Rounds feels more consistent than Reconstruction, as you don’t need to stow the weapon for ~20 seconds to reap the perk’s benefits.
Trait #2: Target Lock / Hatchling Hatchling is a highly potent ad-clearing perk, especially when running a Strand subclass with suitable fragments to buff your Threadlings. On the other hand, Target Lock is an all-rounder and synergizes exceptionally well with this weapon because of Rewind Rounds / Reconstruction in the third column!
Masterwork: Stability +10 Stability.
Mod: Major Extra damage to powerful combatants.

Note: Enhanced Perks are always recommended but not necessary!

Let’s face it: reloading is a drag. And if you’re a devotee of that idea and also thought Auto Rifles couldn’t be meta in Destiny 2, let me introduce you to Rufus’s Fury! Rewind Rounds automatically reloads the magazine when empty based on the number of hits landed before it’s empty. Pairing Target Lock and Rewind Rounds means you’ll be shredding through general rank-and-file enemies, as well as Majors like butter. But the best part? This isn’t even the final form of this AR!

With the addition of the Master difficulty to the Raid in the future, you’ll be able to farm an Adept version of the weapon that will allow you to level up and enhance your RANDOM rolls, along with the added benefit of being able to equip Adept mods like any other (Adept) weapon.

Rufus’s Fury Auto Rifle – God Roll for PvP

Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling Balanced +5 boost to three stats: Range, Stability, and Handling.
Magazine: High-Caliber Rounds The go-to PvP perk as you’ll make your opponents flinch like mad! Also, as an added bonus: +5 Range.
Trait #1: Perpetual Motion Since you’re always sprinting from cover to cover in the Crucible, the weapon will consistently have bonus Reload Speed, Handling and Stability without any extra steps.
Trait #2: Tap the Trigger A no-brainer pick for Auto Rifles as it grants even more Stability and Accuracy (aka Aim Assistance) to the AR every time you pull the trigger. Again, very consistent and easy to proc!
Masterwork: Range +10 Range to get one step closer to not being out-ranged by the likes of an SMG like the IKELOS_SMG!
Mod: Targeting Adjuster +5 Aim Assistance.

This new Auto Rifle is not only an extremely potent DPS option in PvE, but it’s also a beast in taking down other Guardians in PvP. Even if you don’t have the ideal perks on it, I highly recommend giving it a go in Quickplay and see how it feels in your hands. Trust me; you won’t regret it!

And if you do end up liking it, just imagine what you’ll be able to do with the Adept version. Once the Master difficulty becomes available in the new Raid, you’ll have access to bonus stats, enhanced perks, and Adept weapon mods that will take this weapon to the next level.

Root of Nightmares Weapons Loot Pool

Since it is a Raid weapon, you must complete encounters in the new Root of Nightmares Raid in Neomuna and hope you score your Rufus’s Fury from the chest at the end. It is part of the featured loot of specifically the Macrocosm (Planets) and Final Boss (Nezarec) encounters, and you’ll need five “red borders” to extract the patterns and unlock it for crafting at The Enclave.

RoN is a relatively easy Raid when compared to something like King’s Fall, so don’t be too intimidated if you’ve never raided in Destiny 2 before. That said, I do highly recommend joining an LFG discord server (or a good clan), such as Destiny 2 LFG, to find a Fireteam to learn the Raid and breeze through the encounters with.
