OW2: Best Lifeweaver Counters

Now that we have a better understanding of Lifeweaver’s kit, let’s move on to the best counters for this powerful support hero. Here are my top picks from each role – Tank, Damage, and Support – to take down Lifeweaver efficiently.

Best Tank Heroes to Counter Lifeweaver

Overwatch 2 Character Roadhog

ROADHOG: When it comes to dealing with Lifeweaver as a Tank, there are a few heroes that come to mind. The first and perhaps the most obvious choice is Roadhog. Roadhog can single-handedly target and displace Lifeweaver with his Chain Hook, after which his teammates and he can burst him down. Not only does Roadhog have a huge health pool, but he is also a self-sustaining hero with his Take a Breather ability, which can make him a challenging hero to take down.

D.VA/DOOMFIST: If you prefer a more mobile approach, D.Va and Doomfist are both excellent choices to counter our newest Support hero. They can actively challenge him when he’s on his Petal Platform and also chase down critical enemies if they’re pulled out of harm by his Life Grip. Both also have damage-soaking abilities – Defense Matrix and Power Block to soak his Thorn Volley’s damage. Additionally, D.Va can use her boosters to knock him out of position, while Doomfist can quickly engage and displace him.

Best Damage (DPS) Heroes to Counter Lifeweaver

Overwatch 2 Character Ashe

When it comes to dealing damage to Lifeweaver, the best heroes to pick are those that can exploit his weaknesses:

PHARAH: Pharah is one of the most straightforward counters for any character that doesn’t have a hitscan weapon. As Lifeweaver can only fire projectiles, Pharah should be able to win any duel with him with relative ease. Of course, if the enemy team has some good hitscans in their lineup:

ASHE/WIDOWMAKER: Ashe and Widowmaker are also good choices to counter Lifeweaver, particularly in long-range fights. Lifeweaver isn’t effective at long-range battles, where hitscans like Ashe and Widowmaker shine. Two well-placed shots from Ashe’s rifle and a single headshot from Widowmaker’s sniper can quickly take him out of the fight. Lifeweaver has a beefy hitbox for a support character and should not be too hard to hit, unlike skinny characters such as Kiriko!

Best Support Heroes to Counter Lifeweaver

Overwatch 2 Character Ana

Finally, if you’re playing Support and find your teammates having trouble dealing with the opponent Lifeweaver, there are a few heroes you can pick to counter him effectively:

ANA: Ana is still one of the best burst-healing Supports in Overwatch 2 and has a lot of tools at her command. As mentioned earlier, Lifeweaver has a pretty big hitbox for a Support, and you can rapidly land hits on him with Ana’s Biotic Rifle. Remember that Ana can switch between projectile and hitscan shots, so you can choose the best method to deal with Lifeweaver, depending on the situation and range.

BAPTISTE: Baptiste is another Support hero that can deal high amounts of DPS to enemies while healing teammates simultaneously. Since your gun has a pretty good range along with that serious damage, it shouldn’t be much of an issue to deal with Lifeweaver – who can only fire projectiles.

While Lifeweaver may be a challenging hero to deal with, there are several heroes that can counter him effectively. By playing to their strengths and exploiting his weaknesses, you can turn the tide of battle and secure victory for your team. However, OW2 is not a single-player game; you cannot achieve everything solo! Remember to communicate with your teammates and coordinate your efforts, and you’ll be well on your way to besting Overwatch 2’s newest Support hero.
