There’s a lot to explore and uncover on Sons of the Forest’s strange island, all while keeping your wits about you in this sequel to ‘The Forest.’ As with any survival game, navigation is key, and this one is no exception.
Although the game equips you with a handy GPS device to help you keep track of your position and that of your friends, it’s not exactly an interactive map that lets you drop markers for points of interest with a simple click. However, with some effort, you can leave your mark on the map and make sure you never lose your way. Here’s how to use GPS locators to mark places on your map!
Sons of the Forest: How to Mark Locations on the Map
To add a marker to your GPS Navigator, you must first find yourself a GPS Locator. There are only three of these locators (‘GPS Trackers’ essentially) in the game, and each one is marked on your map with a purple exclamation mark. Here’s a short video by ZaFrostPet to help you find all three:
Once you have a GPS Locator in your inventory, here’s how you finally place a map marker:
- After you have a GPS Locator in your inventory, head to the location you wish to mark as a point of interest on your map.
- Place a stick in the ground after equipping one from your inventory.
- Equip the GPS Locator from the red box on the top-left of your inventory.
- Right-click to pick the symbol you wish to use as the marker for this specific location, and then left-click to position the GPS Locator on top of the stick.
That’s all! You should now see a marker with your chosen symbol on your GPS Navigator.
