The long wait for 2023’s most anticipated game will soon be over. Everyone who has purchased the Deluxe Edition of WB Games Avalanche Software’s magical RPG Hogwarts Legacy will be able to leap into it tomorrow and experience what it’s like to be a student of the famed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As the launch time approaches, fans can’t help but wonder what the game will be like, what familiar places they might be able to explore, what it might include from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts universe, and what it won’t. So, if you’ve been wondering if Hogwarts’ “greatest headmaster,” Professor Dumbledore, is in Hogwarts Legacy, wonder no more!

Is Professor Albus Dumbledore in Hogwarts Legacy?
Prof. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, or just Dumbledore, is the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and undoubtedly the most beloved character from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises. Unfortunately, however, don’t expect to meet him in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s, specifically 1890, and Dumbledore was born in 1881 -making him nine years old during the game’s events. As the students at Hogwarts begin their first year of magic schooling at the age of eleven, the future headmaster is still two years away from becoming a student in 1892. So, unless the plot of Hogwarts Legacy lasts more than a year, which is quite unlikely, we won’t see a young Dumbledore in the game.
However, the game’s setting at a period so suspiciously close to the wise wizard’s allows for some speculation. A Hogwarts Legacy sequel set a year or two after the first game could easily portray Albus Dumbledore in his early years at Hogwarts while our player is in their second-to-last or graduating year. And there I go, speculating about a sequel before the first game is even out!
