Armor mods have always been essential in perfecting any Guardian build in Destiny 2. And, as of Season 19: Season of the Seraph, the only way to get the best armor mods in the game was to buy them from Ada-1, the in-game vendor at the Black Armory. But today, to the delight of all players, old and new, every standard armor mod in the game has been unlocked for free as of today.
Bungie revealed in a tweet yesterday that the upcoming Lightfall expansion would bring significant changes to buildcrafting, and this decision to give out all armor mods to players is to “give everyone a chance to enjoy all mods in their current state.” This means you will have to no longer pray for Ada-1 to bring you a mod you need at each daily reset and that you can finally refine and perfect that end-game build you’ve always wanted to use. ‘Standard’ armor mods are essentially every armor mod in the game except those obtained through Raids and leveling up the Seasonal Artifact. So, if you were lacking one or more mods to ‘min-max’ your overpowered Destiny 2 build, now is the time to slot the mods in and have the time of your life ahead of the Lightfall update!
The developer also revealed a drop in focusing prices for adept weapons to 50 Legendary Shards and all Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, Crucible, and Gambit weapons and armor to 25 Legendary Shards. The next update will also include changes to the Power cap and structure of Grandmaster Nightfalls, arriving January 17, making the PvE playlist “more approachable for all players” while remaining some of Destiny 2’s “most challenging content.”
More information about the upcoming, seemingly game-changing, Lightfall expansion will likely be disclosed in the weekly ‘This Week at Bungie’ post on the official Bungie News website.
